Subscription, Refund & Cancellation Terms
Version 2026-11-02.1 · Effective November 2, 2026
Price display, automatic renewal, refunds, downgrades, and online cancellation.
Before a charge
Organization settings show the central plan catalog, current active-user total, currency, monthly billing frequency, renewal rule, and cancellation path before checkout. The payment provider shows the final summary before charge. Where checkout is provided by Paddle, Paddle is the merchant of record and reseller for that purchase, handles applicable customer sales taxes, and issues payment receipts. Paddle buyer terms and privacy information are presented at checkout.
A subscription renews automatically at the displayed interval until canceled. Applicable taxes may be added by the payment provider where required. Any future price change must be disclosed before it applies as required by law.
Cancellation and renewal
An organization owner can cancel online at any time from Organization settings → Plan & billing, without requiring email or a support call. The billing portal is also available online. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period and prevents the next renewal.
Deleting an account does not silently replace subscription cancellation. The account-deletion flow directs customers to cancel first and support must resolve any active billing relationship as part of deletion.
Packs and managed compute
A paid plan includes managed storage and, where tavya offers it, a monthly amount of managed compute: cloud computers tavya runs for tasks of an organization that has not connected its own provider account. 100 GB packs (100 GB more storage each) and $10 packs ($10 more managed compute a month each) add to them, billed monthly with the subscription and prorated on the next bill when added or removed. Packs end with the subscription.
A plan the operator gifts is free until the operator removes it. A gifted Team covers the seats gifted with it; its owner can buy more seats, and an owner of a gifted plan can buy packs, at the prices above, on a subscription of their own beside the gift, billed and canceled like a paid plan's. Removing the last seat or pack from that subscription ends it at the end of the period paid for.
Managed compute is charged against the month’s amount at twice the provider’s list price for the computer’s size and running time (and, where the provider charges for it, its disk, including while the computer is paused), as shown in Organization settings. Unused compute of the month’s amount does not carry over to the next month and is not refunded. Computers on an organization’s own provider account are billed by that provider, not by tavya.
Before work runs on a managed computer, tavya sets aside the cost of its next 15 minutes from the compute left, and renews that while the work runs. What is set aside is not a charge: once the provider reports the actual usage, only that is charged and the rest is released. Work starts only if at least 5 minutes of its computer fit. When the compute left no longer covers the next minutes, the agent is told a few minutes ahead, its turn is stopped and its computer paused with its files kept, and the work waits until more compute is added or the next month begins; it then continues by itself. tavya does not charge for compute used beyond the amount.
Auto top-up is off unless an organization owner turns it on in Plan & billing; it needs an active paid subscription. While it is on and the organization’s work needs more compute than is left, tavya buys a compute top-up: $10 of managed compute for $10, a one-time charge made at once to the payment method saved for the subscription, with its own receipt from the payment provider. It buys as many as the work needs, but never more in a calendar month than the monthly limit the owner set. A top-up does not change the subscription or its renewal price. Top-up compute is used after the month’s amount, carries over from month to month until used, and stays usable if the subscription ends; it is not refunded except where the law requires. If a top-up payment is declined, auto top-up pauses for a day and the owners are told. An owner can turn it off or change the limit at any time, for later top-ups.
When an organization’s compute is used up and not topped up, its owners are told by email and in tavya. If it is still used up 3 days later — or sooner for very large disks, once their cost beyond the amount would reach $10 of compute, but never less than an hour later — its paused managed computers are hibernated: each is saved and its machine and disk deleted. The files its repositories track and their uncommitted changes are kept in managed storage and restored when its task continues; files Git ignores (such as installed dependencies, build output and caches) and running processes are deleted and not restored. Owners are reminded a day before, when there is more than a day, and told when it is done.
Refunds and downgrades
Request refunds or report duplicate or erroneous charges through the configured billing contact or the payment provider. Paddle purchases are subject to Paddle’s buyer terms and refund decisions. Statutory consumer rights are not excluded. Approved Paddle refunds are processed through Paddle, not by a separate direct payment from tavya.
Plan and active-user changes take effect after confirmation by the payment provider. Prorated adjustments are added to the next bill; compute top-ups are charged when bought. A downgrade can reduce feature or usage limits when confirmed; cancellation at period end is a separate action.
